Youth Voice Collaborative’s Media Minds program, YWCA Boston

Media Minds Television News (MMTV News) was a video news show produced quarterly by teens who were learning video production and media literacy skills in workshops I designed and led.   MMTV News aired on the Boston Neighborhood Network cable news channel.

Don’t Risk It is a public service announcement created by teens in the Media Minds program.  Its compelling visual style was inspired by watching experimental art and music videos in an advanced video production class I designed and led.

The activities at Youth Voice Collaborative (YVC) were aligned with themes; Spring 2006 was all about self-expression. This is a short video based on that theme.  Created by Media Minds teens who were learning video production, this was one of their first “man on the street” interview pieces.
